About

Thank you for visiting Idaclare. I, Set, am the author of this blog and have no specific purpose in mind for it except to experience it evolve as a productive form of expression.

The name Idaclare comes from a phrase that my grandmother-”Grandnanny”-used to say. She said it with this intonation:  “Well IIIIIIdeclare!!”  A few weeks ago Grandnanny turned 90 and many friends and family traveled to North Alabama to see her and honor her. I was touched by the stories that many friends and family members told about her, namely that my mother told about her.

So I thought Idaclare would be a fitting name for my blog, not because of any deep significance, but more as a play on words and for humor. When I was little and she would say IIIIIIdeclare!!, I thought she was saying the name of a person [Idaclare] instead of making a comment.

So this for you, Grandnanny [and Idaclare too].

Hey Set so proud of you for reminding us all of our blessings and our responsibility to do our part to address this problem in whatever ways we can. Cool that you would name the blog after your grandmother since she rose out of poverty as we talked about at the birthday party and she raised a bunch of strong passionate women like you —and you have chosen such a worthy cause to be passionate about–
